Quick answer
- No free plan since October 1, 2026: new accounts get a one-time 50-message preview, then turn read-only.
- Standard subscription on the US App Store: $15.99 a month (period inferred), $42.99 for 3 months (about $14.33 a month) or $159.99 a year (about $13.33 a month).
- Ultra ($28.99) and MAX ($68.99) are monthly add-ons on top; all three together cost $113.97 a month.
- The 3-day trial needs a payment method and converts to a paid plan unless you cancel in time.
- Kindroid says web prices are usually lower, but shows them only at checkout. Refunds are generally not given.
Kindroid pricing at a glance
Kindroid's help center explains its plans in detail but leaves out dollar amounts: "You'll see the exact price for your country and platform at checkout." The only itemized prices we could check without an account are on the US App Store:
| App Store entry | Price | Billing | Per month |
|---|---|---|---|
| Kindroid Subscription | $15.99 | Monthly (inferred) | $15.99 |
| Kindroid Subscription (3 mo) | $42.99 | Every 3 months | $14.33 |
| Kindroid Subscription (Yearly) | $159.99 | Yearly | $13.33 |
| Kindroid Ultra Subscription (add-on) | $28.99 | Monthly | $28.99 |
| Kindroid MAX Subscription (add-on) | $68.99 | Monthly | $68.99 |
| 3-day premium trial | $0 upfront | Converts to a paid plan | n/a |
The $15.99 entry carries no period label; we read it as monthly because the other two standard entries say "3 mo" and "Yearly". Google Play shows only a range of $3.49 to $159.99 per item. What the subscription unlocks is covered in our Kindroid review; this page is about cost.
What you really pay per month
| Setup (US App Store) | Per month | Cost over 12 months |
|---|---|---|
| Standard, billed monthly | $15.99 | $191.88 |
| Standard, billed every 3 months | $14.33 | $171.96 |
| Standard, billed yearly | $13.33 | $159.99 |
| Standard monthly + Ultra | $44.98 | $539.76 |
| Standard yearly + Ultra | about $42.32 | $507.87 |
| Standard monthly + Ultra + MAX | $113.97 | $1,367.64 |
Worked example: Kindroid pricing rewards long commitments only a little. Twelve monthly payments cost $191.88, so the yearly plan saves $31.89 (about 17 percent) and the 3-month plan saves $19.92. The saving is smaller than many people expect: ten monthly payments come to $159.90, almost exactly the yearly price. Paying yearly only pays off if you are sure to stay at least 11 months.
Ultra and MAX add-ons
The add-ons are where Kindroid pricing climbs fast. Ultra and MAX are not separate plans but extras stacked on the standard subscription. Ultra ($28.99 a month) adds more memory and context, more complimentary audio credits and an extra backstory field. MAX ($68.99 a month) requires both the standard plan and Ultra and gives the highest memory and audio allowances. Kindroid offers them only to active users with significant interaction history, both bill monthly only, and on the web each one is cancelled separately. The exact allowances appear only in the app's Billing menu.
The one-time preview and the 3-day trial
Every new account gets a one-time preview on the flagship model: 50 messages (15 in some regions; regenerate, continue and suggest count as half), 5 selfies in total, 5,000 audio credits and up to 2 Kindroids. After that the account is read-only: you can read, play back, export and delete, but not send messages or call.
The 3-day premium trial is the second step:
- A card or store payment method is required, and the trial converts to a paid plan unless you cancel within the 3 days. Kindroid emails a reminder one day before.
- Trial chats run on the Ember model; Polaris unlocks only after conversion.
- You get 150,000 audio credits at the start and 850,000 more on conversion.
- A web trial needs a verified mobile number and is not offered on the web in some regions.
- A gift code from a friend gives a 14-day trial instead; you cannot take both.
Credits and slots
One-time purchases need an active subscription or trial, and Kindroid says they are not refundable. US App Store prices:
| Purchase | Price | Per unit |
|---|---|---|
| 50 selfie credits | $6.99 | about $0.14 per credit |
| 100 selfie credits | $11.49 | about $0.11 per credit |
| 500,000 audio credits | $14.99 | see below |
| 1 Kindroid slot (plus 2 group-chat and 2 custom voice slots) | $3.49 | $3.49 per Kindroid slot |
| 4 Kindroid slots (plus 8 group-chat slots) | $11.49 | about $2.87 per Kindroid slot |
Kindroid's help center says a 500,000-credit audio pack covers "roughly 500 minutes" of speech on V2 voices, about 333 minutes on V3 and about 286 on V4, which works out to roughly 3 to 5 cents per minute of speech. Calls cost 400 credits per minute on top, and live video adds about 2,500 credits per minute (Standard) or 4,500 (Premium). The video surcharge alone would use up a pack in about 200 minutes of Standard video or about 111 minutes of Premium video, before any voice or call charges.
Web vs App Store vs Google Play
Kindroid's docs say web prices are slightly lower than app-store prices and that "buying on the web is usually cheaper than through the App Store or Google Play". We could not see web prices without an account, and we have not found an official web price list; figures quoted elsewhere are not confirmed by Kindroid. Also note that a subscription cannot be moved between iOS, Android and the web until it runs out, so decide where to pay before you start.
Renewal, cancellation and refunds
Subscriptions renew for the same term at the then-current, non-promotional rate. If a renewal fails, the store or payment provider sets a grace period, after which the account turns read-only. Legacy early-adopter prices are lost for good if they lapse. To cancel:
- Web: Profile, Billing, Kindroid Standard Subscription, Manage. Cancel Ultra and MAX separately.
- iOS: cancel in your App Store subscription settings.
- Android: cancel in your Google Play subscription settings.
Deleting your Kindroid account does not cancel a paid plan. See our step-by-step cancellation guide for store menus.
Kindroid generally gives no refunds: all sales are final, refunds are "considered on a case-by-case basis", and cancelling gives no prorated refund. For App Store purchases, Apple takes refund requests at reportaproblem.apple.com; Google Play says a refund may be possible within 48 hours of purchase, after which it points you to the developer.
Watch out
Kindroid's help center says users who dispute charges may be banned. Try the store's refund process or Kindroid support first.
How to pay less for Kindroid
- Use the 50-message preview fully before starting the trial.
- Set a reminder for day 2 of the trial if you are unsure.
- Check the web checkout price, which Kindroid says is usually lower.
- Choose yearly billing only if you will stay 11 months or more.
- Skip Ultra and MAX unless you need the extra memory and audio.
- If you need extra slots or selfies, the larger bundles cost less per unit.
If the price is the deal-breaker, Nomi still has a free plan and a $99.99 yearly App Store plan; compare them in Nomi vs Kindroid, see Replika vs Kindroid, browse Kindroid alternatives, or check every app in our AI girlfriend app price comparison.
