US dollar prices from official pricing pages and US store listings, checked October 20, 2026.
"Monthly" is the cheapest monthly plan we could see; "Annual, per month" is the cheapest yearly plan divided by 12. Candy AI prices in euros (seen from an EU connection), so its row is converted at the European Central Bank rate of October 19, 2026. Kupid AI sells weekly, yearly and lifetime access but no monthly plan. Replika, Romantic AI, EVA AI, Talkie and Chai figures are App Store entries without tier names; GirlfriendGPT's $15 comes from an undated FAQ and Nastia AI's $15.99 from landing pages that other official pages contradict. "Not public" means behind a login or inside the app.
How Much Do AI Girlfriend Apps Cost?
Most entry plans cost between $5 and $16 a month, but tiers, add-ons and credit packs widen the range:
- Under $10 a month: Character.AI (c.ai) lite at $4.99, SpicyChat Get A Taste at $5.95, CrushOn Standard at $5.99, the lowest monthly App Store entries for Replika and Romantic AI ($7.99), c.ai+ at $9.99 and Talkie's "1 Month" item at $9.99.
- $10 to $16 a month: EVA AI from $11.99, janitor+ at $12.99, Chai Premium at $13.99, Candy AI at €13.99, GirlfriendGPT at $15 (FAQ figure), and $15.99 for Nomi, Kindroid and Nastia AI.
- Above that: DreamGF's renewal price of $25.98, SpicyChat I'm All In at $29.95, Chai Ultra at $29.99, and CrushOn's Luxe ($39.99), Elite ($89.99) and Imperial ($199.99). Kindroid with both its Ultra and MAX add-ons comes to $113.97 a month on the App Store.
Three apps publish no usable price at all. Muah AI shows its VIP tiers only after login, and Paradot and Anima keep prices inside their apps, with Google Play showing only item ranges ($0.49 to $69.99 for Paradot, $0.99 to $199.99 for Anima).
Cheapest AI Girlfriend Apps by Billing Type
Monthly plans
The cheapest AI girlfriend subscription by monthly price is Character.AI's (c.ai) lite at $4.99 in the US, a tier added on September 28, 2026 between the free plan and c.ai+. Caveats: the company filed for Chapter 11 in October, and lite gives only a daily allowance of premium-model messages. SpicyChat's Get A Taste ($5.95) and CrushOn's Standard ($5.99) are the cheapest from companies without that risk. Get A Taste removes ads and adds the Memory Manager, but no images or voice; CrushOn's Standard brings 2,000 message credits a month, 16K memory models and group chat.
Yearly plans
| App | Cheapest yearly plan | Per month | Note |
|---|---|---|---|
| DreamGF | $44.28 | $3.69 | First year only; renews at $88.56 ($7.38 a month) |
| Romantic AI | $44.99 | $3.75 | iOS entry, tier not named |
| Candy AI | €47.88 | €3.99 | Web, euro price seen from the EU; renews at the same price |
| EVA AI | $47.99 | $4.00 | iOS "12 Months Membership"; Neurons extra |
| Replika | $49.99 | $4.17 | iOS entry, tier not named |
| Talkie | $49.99 | $4.17 | iOS "1 Year" item, product not named |
| CrushOn AI | $58.88 | $4.91 | Standard, web |
| SpicyChat | $60.00 | $5.00 | Get A Taste, web |
| Character.AI | $94.99 | $7.92 | c.ai+, US; company in Chapter 11 |
| Janitor AI | $99.00 | $8.25 | janitor+, web and iOS |
| Nomi | $99.99 | $8.33 | Standard Plan, iOS (an unexplained Launch Plan lists $59.99) |
| Chai | $134.99 | $11.25 | Premium, iOS |
| Kindroid | $159.99 | $13.33 | iOS; the help center says web is slightly cheaper |
| Kupid AI | $179.00 | $14.92 | Pro, one payment for 12 months |
A yearly plan is the cheapest way to pay if you already know you will stay: Nomi's $99.99 a year compares with $191.88 for twelve months at $15.99, and janitor+ drops from $155.88 to $99. The catch: nearly every app here refuses refunds once a period has started.
Weekly plans
Weekly billing looks cheap and costs the most over time. Character.AI's lite plan at $2.49 a week adds up to $129.48 over a year, against $59.88 on monthly lite. Romantic AI's iOS list has $2.99 and $6.99 weekly subscriptions next to a $44.99 annual one; Chai lists Ruby Weekly at $9.99 and Ultra at $19.99 a week; and Kupid AI's Pro at $12.99 a week comes to about $675 a year, against $179 for its 12-month payment.
Lifetime and one-off payments
Kupid AI is the only app here with a public lifetime price: $777 once, shown next to a struck-through 5,880, with monthly quotas of 200 photos, 66 videos and 35 minutes of voice messages. Its weekly and yearly options are single payments too, and the pricing page says "nothing renews", though its Terms still describe cancelling "rebilling" by email. Nomi says it has no lifetime plan, and Replika's help center mentions existing Lifetime subscribers, but we found no lifetime price on sale. SpicyChat's "Pay By Bank" option is another way to skip auto-renewal: those payments are one-time.
Credits, Tokens and Gems Explained
On most apps the subscription covers chat, while a second currency pays for images, voice, video or extras. Each app names it differently, and several sell it only to subscribers.
| App | Currency | Packs (US prices unless noted) | What it pays for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Candy AI | Tokens | 100 a month with Premium, 330 with Premium Plus; top-up prices behind login | Images, video, voice messages, voice calls, character creation, private content packs; text chat is free |
| Nomi | Credits | 40 for $4.99 up to 1,800 for $99.99 | Selfies and art after the daily allowance (1 each), videos (6 or 10), an extra group chat (25), an extra Nomi (100) |
| Kindroid | Selfie and audio credits, slots | 50 selfies $6.99, 100 selfies $11.49, 500,000 audio credits $14.99, slots $3.49 or $11.49 | Premium selfies, voice messages, calls (400 credits a minute plus voice), live video, more Kindroids |
| Romantic AI | Hearts | 100 for $4.99, 300 for $9.99, 1,000 and 1,500 both $14.99 | Gifts, photo and audio generation; store reviewers say messages too |
| EVA AI | Neurons | 500 for $9.99, 2,000 for $29.99 | "Romantic messages" (2 Neurons to read), virtual gifts |
| Chai | Pieces | 200 for $2.79, 500 for $6.99, 1,000 for $13.99 | Not described by Chai |
| Talkie | Gems (Diamonds on some pages) | $1.99 to $19.99, amounts not shown | Talkie Claw messages after the first 20; other uses not documented |
| Character.AI | Charms | $0.99 to $99.99, amounts not shown; also earned through quests | Extra image generations, skipping slow mode, an ad-free pass |
| DreamGF | Tokens | Packs from $2.99 to $179.99, premium members only | 20 per companion, 10 per image, 3 per voice message, 7 per minute of calls |
| CrushOn AI | Message credits | 100 a month free, up to 125,000 on Imperial; pack prices behind login | Replies from Pro and Ultra models |
Bigger packs are usually cheaper per unit. Nomi's credits fall from about 12.5 cents each in the 40-credit pack to about 5.6 cents in the 1,800 pack; they never expire, but you need an active subscription to buy them. Kindroid's selfie credits cost about 14 cents each in a 50-pack and 11.5 cents in a 100-pack, and its help center says buying on the web is usually cheaper. Chai's Pieces cost a flat 1.4 cents each in every pack.
Some lists are odd. Romantic AI's App Store page shows 1,000 and 1,500 Hearts at the same $14.99, which makes the larger pack about one cent a Heart. EVA AI's Neurons work out to 1.5 to 2 cents, so a "romantic message" costs 3 to 4 cents to read on top of Premium. Talkie and Character.AI do not show how many gems or Charms a pack holds, so their value cannot be worked out before buying; c.ai+ subscribers get 20% bonus Charms on packs.
Credits can also expire or vanish. Candy AI's Terms say unused subscription tokens expire when the subscription ends, while a help-center article says they stay on the account, so use them before cancelling. Kupid AI's Terms say Coins included with a plan expire after six months, while bought packs do not, and on Nastia AI deleting the account removes any remaining tokens. Replika is the exception: its gems ($0.99 to $19.99 a pack) buy outfits, room items and personality traits, and can be bought with or without a subscription.
Web vs App Store Pricing
The same plan can cost different amounts on the web and in the app stores:
- Kindroid: the help center says web prices are slightly lower than app-store prices. You see the exact price at checkout, and a subscription cannot be moved between iOS, Android and web until it runs out.
- Nomi: its wiki says web subscriptions are billed in US dollars and "may sometimes offer slightly better effective pricing" than the stores; web prices appear only after sign-in.
- Janitor AI and Character.AI: janitor+ is $12.99 on both the web and the US App Store, and c.ai+ is $9.99 in the help center and on the App Store, with prices varying by country.
- Replika: amounts appear only inside the app and in the stores; web checkout prices are not visible without an account.
- Web-only apps: Candy AI, DreamGF, Kupid AI, Nastia AI, CrushOn, Muah AI, GirlfriendGPT and, since Apple removed its iOS app, SpicyChat bill through their own payment processors. SpicyChat charges the same figures in dollars and euros ($5.95 or €5.95), and £4.95 in pounds.
Where you buy also decides how you cancel and who handles refunds. App Store and Google Play subscriptions are cancelled in the store's subscription settings, and refunds for them go through Apple or Google. Janitor AI, for example, says app subscriptions cannot be cancelled from its website.
First-Month Offers That Renew Higher
Several apps lead with a discounted first period; the renewal line matters more than the headline:
- Candy AI: €9.99 for the first month, then €13.99 a month. Twelve months on the monthly plan cost €163.88, against €47.88 on the yearly plan, which renews at the same price.
- DreamGF: $12.99 for the first month, then $25.98; $23.97 for the first quarter, then $47.94; $44.28 for the first year, then $88.56. A year on the monthly plan comes to $298.77. When we checked, the offer's countdown showed 0:00:00 while the discount was still displayed, and the membership policy says taking the "+100 instant tokens" offer blocks cancelling for 30 days.
- Character.AI: its help center describes a Summer Flash Sale (c.ai+ at $14.99 for three months or $59.99 for the first year, then $9.99 a month or $94.99 a year). We could not confirm the offer is still available.
- Kupid AI: an "Autumn Discount 75% OFF" banner whose countdown restarted at about 33 minutes on every page load, which suggests a standing price rather than a deadline.
- CrushOn AI: some tiers show struck-through prices (Premium at $14.99 instead of $19.99); the pricing page does not say whether the discount continues at renewal.
Tip
Before paying, look for the "then" line at checkout (DreamGF's reads "Then $25.98 / month from your first renewal") and set a reminder a few days before the renewal date.
Price Changes in 2026
- SpicyChat, September 8: every tier went up. Get A Taste rose from $5.00 to $5.95, True Supporter from $14.95 to $19.95 and I'm All In from $24.95 to $29.95; the yearly plans went from $50, $149.95 and $249.95 to $60, $199.95 and $299.95. Existing subscribers keep their old price while the plan stays active and unchanged, and any plan change moves them to current pricing. Details in our SpicyChat price increase report.
- Kindroid, October 1: the free Lite model and unlimited free messaging were retired. New accounts get a one-time preview (50 messages, 15 in some regions) and then turn read-only, so using Kindroid now means a subscription. See Kindroid ends its free plan.
- Character.AI, September 28 and October 12: (c.ai) lite launched at $4.99 a month or $2.49 a week; two weeks later the company filed for Chapter 11 and said billing is unchanged "for now". Its Terms promise at least 30 days' notice of any price increase. Background in our Chapter 11 report.
- Janitor AI, June 24 and July 30: janitor+ became its first paid plan at $12.99 a month, followed by the pay-per-token janitor+ Router; the free tier stays. See Janitor AI launches janitor+.
- Chai: its Safety Center says use requires a paid subscription in some regions, and Australia's eSafety Commissioner reported in March 2026 that Chai had restricted free chat and now requires a subscription, without saying whether that applies beyond Australia.
- Candy AI and Replika: Candy AI documented a higher Premium Plus tier in March 2026 (price not public), and Replika's Terms of March 30, 2026 list Pro, Ultra and Platinum programs.
Free vs Paid: What the Money Buys
Free plans vary widely. Nomi allows 50 messages a day, Character.AI and Janitor AI unlimited messaging, CrushOn 100 credits a month plus free models, and SpicyChat states no cap; Candy AI stops at 5 messages and Kupid AI at 15. Paying usually buys three things: voice (Nomi, Replika and Kindroid keep calls behind the subscription), media (SpicyChat's in-chat images start at $19.95) and memory, in the form of a bigger context window (SpicyChat goes from 4K to 8K and up to 32K tokens, and janitor+ gives five times more context). Paid plans also remove ads on c.ai+ and SpicyChat. For the full trade-off, see free vs paid AI girlfriend apps and our list of the best free AI girlfriend apps.
Refunds and Cancellation
Assume you will not get your money back. Nomi, Kindroid, Replika, Character.AI, Janitor AI, SpicyChat, CrushOn, Talkie, EVA AI, Romantic AI, Paradot, GirlfriendGPT, Kupid AI, Nastia AI, DreamGF and Muah AI all describe subscriptions as non-refundable, with exceptions only where the law requires one, for technical errors or at the company's discretion. Romantic AI and Paradot even state that the EU 14-day withdrawal right does not apply to their digital products.
Two apps give a short window on web purchases. Candy AI refunds a request made within 24 hours of payment if no more than 20 tokens were used (card payments only), and EU and UK users get a 14-day withdrawal right on the first purchase. Anima's web policy allows a request within 24 hours, with a 14-day withdrawal right for EU, EEA, UK and Swiss users. App Store and Google Play purchases are refunded, if at all, by Apple or Google.
Cancelling has its own traps. Deleting the app does not cancel a store subscription (Nomi, Replika and Anima say so explicitly), and deleting a Kindroid account does not stop billing either. On Candy AI, deleting the account before the renewal date does cancel; CrushOn will not let you delete an account with an active subscription; Kupid AI asks you to email to stop rebilling; and Chai publishes no cancellation steps, so its subscriptions are cancelled in Apple or Google settings. Our guide to cancelling an AI companion subscription covers each route, and the account deletion guide your data.
How to Pay Less
- Start free and upgrade late. Nomi, Janitor AI, SpicyChat, CrushOn and Character.AI all let you chat without paying, which is enough to judge whether you will stay.
- Go yearly only when you are sure. c.ai+ costs $94.99 a year instead of $119.88, SpicyChat's Get A Taste $60 instead of $71.40 and Kindroid $159.99 instead of $191.88, but refunds are rare.
- Avoid weekly billing. Over a year it costs two to four times more than the monthly or yearly plan on the same app.
- Compare the web price. Kindroid and Nomi both say their web checkout can be cheaper than the app stores.
- Keep a locked price. SpicyChat subscribers keep their pre-September rate as long as they do not change plans.
- Control what spends credits. Candy AI has a toggle that turns off automatic in-chat images so they do not use tokens, and Nomi spends credits only after the daily selfie allowance runs out.
- Read the pack list. On Romantic AI, 1,500 Hearts cost the same $14.99 as 1,000.
