What Is GirlfriendGPT?

GirlfriendGPT describes itself as "a NSFW AI chat platform that allows you to chat with AI girlfriends and AI boyfriends, for roleplay, sexting and more", powered by "an unrestricted AI Chat Generator". Most characters are made and shared by users, and the site adds a standalone image generator and an image-to-video tool.

The address has changed: on October 20, 2026, girlfriendgpt.com answered with a permanent redirect (HTTP 301) to www.gptgirlfriend.online, where the product still calls itself GirlfriendGPT. We found no announcement of the move. "GPTGirlfriend" is the same service.

The legal pages say the site is owned and operated by NextDay AI Incorporated of Montreal, Canada, with subsidiaries in Delaware and Cyprus; SpicyChat's terms name the same company. The chat model is not named, and a 2023 open-source project with the same name is not connected to this product on any official page.

Who Is GirlfriendGPT For?

Going by its own pages, GirlfriendGPT suits adults who want to browse a large library of user-made NSFW characters for free, generate images and, on the top tiers, turn them into short videos. It fits less well if you want prices before signing in, voice calls, documented memory or short data retention. It also covers AI boyfriends; our list of AI boyfriend apps has more options there.

How GirlfriendGPT Works

The Privacy Notice says you get "a free test of a few messages" before being asked to register. Sign-up uses Discord, Google or an email and password, and the FAQ says you need an account to create a character.

The home page is a character library: cards show the creator's handle, chat counts, tags such as Scenario, OC, RPG and Monster Girl, and content ratings such as PG and PG_13, plus an NSFW tab, trending and new lists and a Top Creators page. Usage runs on credits. The Terms call them "message credits", give paid tiers "5000 up to 20000 per month depending on the subscription tier", and say they reset monthly without carrying over. What each action costs in credits is not itemized.

Character Creation

The "Create Your Dream Character" page offers Quick Create and Custom Create, both starting with a name. Public characters carry a description or scenario, tags and a content rating, and you can share your creations publicly. The full list of fields is behind the login, and no length limits are published. Under the Terms' example, free accounts can make 2 to 3 characters; paid tiers allow more.

Chat Quality

We did not chat on GirlfriendGPT, and the company publishes little about how replies are produced. User feedback was too thin to summarize: the Trustpilot profile had only 4 reviews (2.7 out of 5) when we checked, and the one detailed English review also recommends a competing site, so we do not use it. Reddit could not be read during our research. The free test messages are the practical way to judge quality.

Personality and Roleplay

Roleplay and scenario chats are the core use: characters are tagged RPG, roleplay bot or erotic roleplay, and some are written as multi-character scenarios under a "Multiple" tag. A dedicated group chat feature is not documented. As with any user-made library, expect personality and writing quality to vary from card to card. Memory

Voice Features

The FAQ says your AI companion can send voice messages, and the home page promises "voice chat with your favorite characters". No real-time call feature, voice limits or prices are documented, so we cannot confirm voice calls. Apps with documented calls are listed on our page about AI girlfriend apps with voice.

Image and Video Generation

The image generator is the most visible feature, and you can look at it without logging in. It offers 10 styles (Anime, Realistic Pro, Semi-Real, AnimeMix, Anime2D, Comic, Realistic Lite, Painting, Cartoon and 3D Cartoon), a negative prompt, auto-enhance, a creativity slider, 1, 2, 4 or 8 images per prompt and a "Safe Mode" switch. Characters can also send AI selfies in chat. The Generate button shows an unlabeled "20", possibly a credit cost, and the free allowance is not published.

Image-to-video launched on March 16, 2026: you animate a generated image with a text prompt and a chosen video model, and the clips appear in a Video tab of your gallery. It is "available exclusively for Deluxe and Elite subscribers", and the company lists text-to-video audio and a wardrobe editor as plans for 2026. Adult / NSFW Features

Adult content is the point of the platform: there is an NSFW tab in the library, an NSFW image generator and NSFW image-to-video for adults. Access is 18+ by self-declaration: an age gate asks you to confirm you are over 18, and no ID or card check is described.

"Unrestricted" does not mean unmoderated. The site's policy on minors and its Terms describe a moderation filter based on proprietary LLM technology, with manual review of flagged content, and the image generator's Safe Mode can be switched on or off. The Community Guidelines bar characters who are minors, non-consensual material and images of real people. No separate unfiltered mode is documented. Mobile and Web Availability

• Web: the full product runs in the browser, and an "Install App" button adds it as a Progressive Web App on iPhone, Android and desktop.
• iPhone: the download page says to "skip the iOS App Store or Android Play Store!", and a US App Store search found no official app in October 2026. The Terms still mention App Store and Google Play versions, which looks like leftover template text.
• Android: the download page says Android users can install a GirlfriendGPT APK directly, but we could not find the APK link itself, and there is no Google Play listing.

Pricing

We could not see a live price list. The plan page sits behind a login (the /subscribe address redirects to a Discord sign-in), and the only prices we found are in an undated FAQ answer to "What are the pricing choices on GirlfriendGPT?". Treat the table below as unverified until you see the same figures at checkout. The currency is read from the "$" sign, and taxes are not mentioned.

The Terms add that paid tiers include 5,000 to 20,000 credits a month and more characters. No annual or lifetime plan was visible.

GirlfriendGPT publishes no fixed Credits packs with prices.

Spent on: The Terms call them 'message credits' (5,000 up to 20,000 per month on paid tiers) but do not itemise what consumes them; image-to-video is tier-gated (Deluxe/Elite) and the image generator's Generate button shows an unlabelled '20'. The Terms say credits are 'available for purchase' and 'reset monthly and cannot be carried over to the next subscription period'.

Payments run through CCBill or TrustPay. Subscriptions renew until canceled, and a cancellation received after a new period starts may still be charged for that cycle. You cancel on the account's "manage subscription" page; CCBill subscribers can also cancel at ccbill.com.

Refunds are limited. Terms section 15 says GirlfriendGPT "does not offer refunds for subscriptions that have been paid for", except for a mistake on its side or a technical issue. CCBill payers must ask CCBill, others ask support, requests are handled within 14 days, and stricter local consumer laws still apply. Free Plan

The Terms say "the core Services are provided to users at no charge", then give an example of the free limits: users can "generate up to 2 or 3 characters and have a limited message count, such as 10 to 20 messages in total". After that you need credits earned through tasks or a paid tier. These are examples rather than hard limits, but free use is clearly meant for testing, not ongoing chat. Privacy and Data Handling

The Privacy Notice (revised April 13, 2026), Terms (June 18, 2026) and Community Guidelines cover these points:

• Collected: browser, IP address and navigation data; name, date of birth and usage information; the content you provide and communications, which may be monitored or recorded; cookie and location data; and data from Google Analytics and ad networks.
• Training use: not stated either way. The Terms let you keep ownership of what you submit but grant GirlfriendGPT a perpetual license to it.
• Staff access: flagged content may be reviewed manually, and the Community Guidelines describe "a blend of human reviewers and automated tools". This sits uneasily with the FAQ's claim that only you and your AI can see your chats.
• Encryption: the FAQ mentions "advanced encryption" without detail; the policy promises only "appropriate security measures".
• Retention: data is kept while your account exists and then usually for 6 years after you stop being a user.
• Selling: the policy says it will not "disclose, sell, trade, or otherwise transfer" personal information without consent, unless stated otherwise in the policy.
• Deletion: you can request erasure from support, and withdrawing consent leads to account deletion; no in-app delete button is described. Access requests get a reply within a month; there is no export tool.

GirlfriendGPT Review: Pros and Cons

Best Alternatives to GirlfriendGPT

SpicyChat comes from the same operator, NextDay AI, and works the same way: a large library of user-made characters for adult roleplay with free core features. Unlike GirlfriendGPT, it publishes its plans (from $5.95 a month after a September 2026 price change) and documents a Memory Manager on paid tiers.

CrushOn.AI also lists its prices publicly, from $5.99 a month, with a free plan of 100 credits a month and detailed memory tools, but no image generator. If images and video are the priority, Candy AI shows its euro prices before sign-up and builds its plans around 18+ images and video.
