Janitor AI's Community Guidelines (February 4, 2026) say it "permits adult content between consenting adult characters". Sexual or romantic characters must carry the "Limitless" tag; "Limited" means none. The free tier is "unlimited chats with millions of bots" on the built-in JLLM model with a context of around 9,000 tokens, and the Help Center promises "a free option available for everyone". We found nothing that ties adult content to janitor+, which adds 5x more context, faster replies and more models.

Banned for everyone: sexual content involving minors or minor-coded characters, incest between blood relatives, age regression, necrophilia, bestiality and nude images. SpicyChat's site is titled "NSFW AI Chatbots and Roleplay for Adults", and its FAQ says every chatbot, including those listed as SFW, can take part in NSFW roleplay. A profile toggle shows or hides NSFW chatbots and blurs explicit images. The docs say core features stay "accessible to everyone, free of charge": default models, a 4,096-token context, replies up to 180 tokens, three personas and unlimited character creation. No free-tier message cap is published.

CrushOn.AI's wiki defines three content levels. Filtered is the default and allows no sexual content. Unfiltered lets characters take part in sexual roleplay in chat while images cannot show nudity. Hidden Content opens full NSFW access for registered users: log in, complete the daily check-in on 2 days and spend 50 message credits. The steps the wiki lists do not mention a paid plan.

The free plan gives 100 message credits a month, unlimited Free Models, 8K memory and a maximum AI message length of 225 (the unit is not stated). Pro Models use credits and Ultra Models are not available. Free chat history is deleted after 7 days of inactivity. Nastia AI says its free tier is "Free forever - no credit card, no trial, no expiration": uncensored text chat with one companion under a daily token allowance, and "NSFW content is on from the first message". The size of the allowance is not published. The Terms allow fictional sexual content between adults and ban depictions of anyone under 18 (including "aged-up" characters), real people, non-consensual activity, incest and bestiality; requests and media are screened automatically.

Candy AI: 5 messages in total, one character and one image; further use needs Premium. See the Candy AI review.
Kupid AI: 15 messages (period not stated; the homepage claims "Unlimited Chat for Free"). The free versus paid adult split is not spelled out.
GirlfriendGPT: the Terms give "10 to 20 messages in total" as an example free limit; credits can be earned through tasks.
DreamGF, Muah AI and Romantic AI: a trial, a no-login demo and a Basic tier exist, but the limits are unpublished. Premium perks such as "unblurred spicy replies" suggest, in our inference, that free content is blurred.
Kindroid: NSFW is allowed in private chats, but a new account gets only a one-time preview of 50 messages (15 in some regions).

Apps With No Adult Content on Any Plan

Character.AI says pornographic content "will not be supported at any point in the future" and calls its filter stance final. Talkie bans explicit and suggestive sexual content, Chai says its models are designed to refuse sexually explicit content, and EVA AI's Terms (June 30, 2026) forbid adult-themed content. Age Checks and Regional Rules for Free NSFW Chat

Most apps ask you to tick an 18+ box. Some add a real check where the law or their own rules require it:

SpicyChat: NSFW needs verification in France, the UK, Italy, Australia and 26 US states (including Texas, Florida and Ohio), using a third-party video selfie with an ID fallback. Region follows your IP address; unverified users keep the platform but not NSFW content. The official list is undated.
Janitor AI: a one-time k-ID check (face estimate, ID scan or AgeKey) for the UK, Australia and Brazil, with only a pass or fail returned. Official pages disagree on the UK: blocked from July 2025, then listed as a check country in June 2026.
Kindroid: a payment method counts as verification; flagged free accounts must subscribe or verify with Yoti.
Nastia AI and Nomi: a self-declaration for everyone, with full checks only where required (Nomi's CEO named Kansas and Australia).
CrushOn.AI, Candy AI, Kupid AI, Muah AI: a self-declared 18+ in the documents we read; Candy AI's Privacy Notice also mentions third-party age estimation "as applicable based on your location". DreamGF blocks the UK until a verification process exists.

The rules behind this are moving. Australia's age-restricted material codes have applied to AI companion chatbots since March 9, 2026, the UK's Online Safety Act requires "highly effective" age assurance for pornographic content, and in Free Speech Coalition v. Limitations of Free Adult Chat

Use the web first: Janitor AI's apps start in Restricted Mode, Nomi says its mobile app has the most restricted image rules, and SpicyChat has no iPhone app after Apple removed it in August 2025.
Small context: 4K to 9K tokens means older text is forgotten; see free AI companions with memory.
