Adult-content rules differ more than the ads suggest: some apps allow explicit text and images, some text only, some lock adult content behind an age check in certain countries, and four large apps ban it outright. We did not create accounts, chat or pay: every statement below comes from the apps' own policies, help centers, plan pages and store listings, plus regulators and reputable press, all checked on October 20, 2026.

How We Picked the Best NSFW AI Girlfriend Apps

We publish no scores. The order follows six checks that can be made on official pages:

1. A written adult-content policy: does the company say in its terms or guidelines that adult content is allowed, and does it list what is banned?
2. Scope: text roleplay only, or also images, video and voice?
3. Access and price: is adult chat possible on a free tier, and are paid prices public?
4. Age checks and regional limits: how age is checked and where access is restricted.
5. Privacy and safety record: encryption, training use of chats, data selling, retention and known breaches.
6. Platforms: web, iPhone and Android, and whether adult features work there.

A breach on record or prices hidden behind a login push an app down, whatever its features.

Which AI Girlfriend Apps Allow NSFW Content?

What each adult-friendly app's own pages say. "Self-declared" means you only confirm you are 18 or older.

Apps that do not allow NSFW content

• Character.AI: pornographic content "will not be supported at any point in the future", adults included, per the help center. See our Character.AI review.
• Talkie: the FAQ says "Pornographic and violent content are prohibited", and the Community Guidelines also ban suggestive content. Its Terms admit users from age 14, so it is not an adults-only service.
• Chai: the Safety Center says its models and real-time safety systems are "designed to refuse the generation of restricted material, including sexually explicit content". The EULA bans sexually explicit images and videos.
• EVA AI: the Terms updated June 30, 2026 forbid using the app "to generate, request, or share any sexually explicit, pornographic, or adult-themed content".

Store listings for Chai and EVA AI still mention infrequent sexual content; we did not test how strictly the bans are enforced.

Apps with unclear rules

Replika has no official statement that explicit content is allowed; Pro unlocks the Romantic Partner status and "unblurred messages and photos, including romantic and creative selfies", and one October 2026 App Store reviewer says sexual interaction has been stopped (a user report). Anima has two policies from the same day that contradict each other. Paradot is rated Mature 17+ for sexual content on Google Play, but its own policies say nothing about adult content.

Kindroid's moderation guidelines give the clearest permission on this list: "NSFW (Not Safe for Work) and Erotic Roleplay (ERP)" are allowed, with no filter "on the AI itself" and three account-level red lines (imminent self-harm, imminent harm to others, child sexual abuse material). Adult content stays in private chats, not shared Kins or Kindroid Social, and the mobile apps apply stricter image rules than the web.

Its privacy terms are the strongest among adult-friendly apps: encryption at rest and in transit (not end to end), support staff who "cannot browse your chats", and data export. SpicyChat presents itself as "NSFW AI Chatbots and Roleplay for Adults", and its FAQ says every chatbot, even those listed as SFW, can take part in NSFW roleplay. The free tier includes the community library, default models and a 4,096-token context with no published message cap. Explicit pictures are paid: Conversation Images have an NSFW Mode allowing "nude depictions of your character" from the True Supporter tier ($19.95 a month).

Two limits: NSFW content stays locked in France, the UK, Italy, Australia and 26 US states until you pass a video-selfie or ID check, and the Terms grant a licence over your chats that includes "selling". See the SpicyChat review.

Chats on the free built-in model are unlimited, and you can connect your own model through an API proxy (your chats then go to that provider).

Its moderation policy uses automated flagging and human review, and bans content resembling minors or real people. Romantic AI is one of the few adult-leaning girlfriend apps with an iPhone app (rated 18+) and an Android app, plus a web version that warns it "contains explicit content". Premium promises "Unblurred spicy replies", which suggests explicit replies are blurred on the free tier.

Its rules are tighter than the marketing: an AI filter screens inputs and outputs are classified before delivery. The App Store lists unnamed plans from $2.99 a week to $44.99 a year, plus Hearts; our Romantic AI review explains them.

It ranks last on privacy. Have I Been Pwned lists a 2024 breach of 1.9 million email addresses together with users' prompts, many sexually explicit, and press reported extortion attempts using the data. How Adult Features Differ: Text, Images, Video and Voice

NSFW AI girlfriend with image generation

Images split the field. Candy AI, DreamGF, Nastia AI, GirlfriendGPT, Kupid AI and Muah AI generate adult images, always as a paid or token-based feature. SpicyChat allows nude depictions in Conversation Images from its $19.95 tier. CrushOn.AI's Hidden Content shows images uploaded by creators rather than generating them. Adult video is newer and pricier: Candy AI turns chat images into short videos with tokens, GirlfriendGPT added image-to-video for its top tiers in March 2026, Nastia AI lists HD video on its paid plan, and Kupid AI's paid tiers include 8 or 25 videos a week. Voice calls are rarer in adult apps. Kindroid offers voice and live video calls to subscribers, Candy AI has beta voice calls paid with tokens, DreamGF charges 7 tokens a minute, and Muah AI reserves live calls for its top tier. Free vs Paid NSFW Access

Adult chat itself is often free; explicit media almost never is.

• Free adult chat: nothing in SpicyChat's docs limits NSFW roleplay to paid tiers; Janitor AI's free model gives unlimited chats; Nastia AI turns NSFW on from the first message; CrushOn.AI's wiki names no paid plan for its Unfiltered switch (Hidden Content needs a login, a 2-day check-in and 50 message credits spent; the free plan includes 100 credits a month); Nomi's free plan gives 50 messages a day.
• Tiny free allowances: Candy AI stops at 5 messages, Kupid AI at 15, and GirlfriendGPT's Terms give 10 to 20 messages as an example. DreamGF has a free trial with unpublished limits.
• Paid only: Kindroid has no free plan since October 1, 2026. Romantic AI's "unblurred spicy replies" are a Premium benefit, and DreamGF's Premium removes blur.
• Explicit images: from $19.95 a month on SpicyChat, Premium plus tokens on Candy AI (100 included a month), 10 tokens per image on DreamGF, 25 photos a week on Kupid AI's $12.99 weekly Pro plan.

Age Verification and Regional Limits

Most adult apps still rely on a click: you confirm you are 18. That is changing where laws require more, and the result depends on where you connect from.

• United Kingdom: since July 25, 2025 the Online Safety Act requires sites and apps that allow pornography to use highly effective age assurance, not a click-through box, and Ofcom says chatbots that can generate pornographic content are in scope. Ofcom opened an age-check investigation into an AI companion service in January 2026. On June 15, 2026 the government announced a minimum age of 18 for romantic companion chatbots, with regulations expected before Christmas 2026. Our UK 18+ rule report follows it.
• Australia: since March 9, 2026, industry codes under the Online Safety Act require AI companions that can generate sexually explicit material to confirm a user is 18 or older before giving access. See age checks for AI companions in Australia.
• United States: in Free Speech Coalition v. Paxton (June 27, 2025) the Supreme Court upheld a Texas law requiring age verification on sites with sexually explicit content; whether a given companion app is covered depends on each state's statute. California's SB 243, in force since January 1, 2026, requires reasonable measures to keep sexually explicit visual material from users the operator knows are minors. How the apps respond: SpicyChat locks NSFW content in its listed regions (set by your IP address) until a video selfie or ID check; Janitor AI runs a one-time k-ID check in the UK, Australia and Brazil; Kindroid treats a payment method as verification and sends flagged free accounts to Yoti (a selfie estimate of 21 or older, otherwise ID); Nastia AI and Nomi add checks only where law requires, and Nomi named Kansas and Australia. DreamGF blocks the UK, and Candy AI blocks China and Singapore. Kindroid, Janitor AI, SpicyChat and Nastia AI all say their verification partner returns only a pass or fail result, not your ID or selfie.

App Store vs Web: Why Adult Features Live in the Browser

Apple's App Review Guidelines ban "overtly sexual or pornographic material" (rule 1.1.4) and say apps used "primarily for pornographic content" may be removed. They allow incidental NSFW content from a web service only if it is "hidden by default and only displayed when the user turns it on via your website". Google Play bans content "intended to be sexually gratifying". On October 16, 2026 Apple also extended its moderation rule to AI-generated non-consensual intimate imagery; our app store rules report covers the change.

You can see the effect in the apps:

• Janitor AI's mobile apps start in Restricted Mode, which you can lift only on the website; Kindroid and Nomi restrict images more in their mobile apps.
• Apple removed SpicyChat's iPhone app in August 2025 for not complying with its guidelines.
• Candy AI, Kupid AI, Nastia AI, DreamGF, GirlfriendGPT and Muah AI run in the browser; SpicyChat, CrushOn.AI and Muah AI offer Android APK files from their own sites.

Privacy and Safety Notes Before You Sign Up

Adult chats are the most sensitive data you can give an app. A few facts worth weighing:

• Breaches happen. Muah AI's 2024 breach tied sexual prompts to 1.9 million email addresses. In 2025 Cybernews found two other companion apps, Chattee Chat and GiMe Chat, exposing more than 43 million messages and 600,000 images and videos, and 404 Media reported that SecretDesires.ai left nearly two million images and videos in open cloud storage.
• Chats may train models. Candy AI's Terms license your content for AI training, CrushOn.AI's policy says chats may train its models, and Romantic AI may use anonymized interaction data; none describes an opt-out. Kupid AI's FAQ says it does not train public models on your chats.
• No end-to-end encryption. None of these apps claims it. Kindroid states encryption at rest and in transit; Candy AI and Nastia AI state encryption in transit.
• Staff may see flagged content on Candy AI, CrushOn.AI, DreamGF, Kupid AI, Romantic AI and GirlfriendGPT; Kindroid says support staff cannot browse chats and limits human review to flagged excerpts.
• Long retention: GirlfriendGPT and Kupid AI keep personal data for 6 years after you stop being a user.
• Real people are off limits. Most adult apps ban images resembling real people. Since May 19, 2026 the FTC has enforced the TAKE IT DOWN Act, which requires platforms to remove reported non-consensual intimate images, including AI-generated ones.

Allowed Is Not the Same as Unfiltered

Every app on this list moderates something: "uncensored" in marketing usually means adult content is allowed, not that rules are gone.
