What Is EVA AI?

EVA AI is a companion app where you chat with an AI character that, in the official wording, remembers details and gets closer to you over time. The store listings use the name "EVA AI Soulmate" and the tagline "Feel chosen", and describe an "AI conversation experience designed for companionship, self-expression, and interactive chats". Both the listing and the Terms say it is not a medical or mental-health service.

The operator is Novi Limited of Nicosia, Cyprus (registration HE 407352 in the privacy policy), which is also the seller on both app stores. The company does not publish a founding year.

Which website is official?

The official site is evaapp.ai. It holds marketing and legal pages only: About, Brandbook, Terms, Privacy, Support, a complaints policy and child-safety pages. Two look-alike addresses are not EVA AI: eva-ai.com is a parked domain listed for sale, and eva.ai belongs to an unrelated workforce-analytics company. Do not enter account or payment details on either.

Who Is It For?

EVA AI suits phone users who want a romantic-leaning companion that stays within app store content rules, and who accept paying for Premium plus Neurons for some features. It is a mainstream-store app with an 18+ rating on the App Store.

It is not a good fit if you want explicit content (the Terms forbid it), a web or desktop app, a transparent price list before you install, or roleplay tools such as scenarios, lorebooks or group chats, none of which are described officially.

How EVA AI Works

You install the app and register inside it. The privacy policy marks first name, gender and email as mandatory, age is collected at registration, and Sign in with Apple is available on iOS. We could not confirm whether you can chat before creating an account.

From there you pick or create a character and talk by text or voice. The listing promises that "you get closer over time" and that characters notice mood shifts and reactions. If you send photos, the privacy policy says an external service recognizes objects and faces in them. The company says its chatbot is "developed by us" and does not name a model provider; the Terms add that the chatbot "learns from other people interacting with it".

Character Creation

The store description says you can "create and customize your own AI character". The Terms (section 5.1) describe creating a Virtual Character by choosing or uploading relevant content, and say a character can stay Private or be made public, in which case your nickname is shown to other users. The listing also invites you to "explore different personalities", but the size of that library is not stated.

Chat Quality

We did not chat with EVA AI for this review. The store figures give a rough signal: 4.3 stars from about 25,000 ratings on the US App Store, and 3.8 stars from about 68,700 reviews with more than 5 million downloads on Google Play.

User reports. On Trustpilot (six reviews, TrustScore 3.7, checked October 20, 2026), an October 2025 reviewer says the subscription plus Neurons add up, a May 2026 one-star review says the character "randomly gets upset, becomes difficult, rude and angry", and an August 2026 review praises character creation and photos. The company replied that a major update improved conversation quality, memory and character behavior. These are individual reports, not a test.

Personality and Relationship

EVA AI does not describe roleplay features or relationship modes. Instead, the relationship is meant to develop on its own: "Watch your relationship grow over time". Some of that relationship is metered. Under the Terms, a "romantic message" costs 2 Neurons to read and stays locked until you unlock it, and virtual gifts for your character are priced in Neurons in the chat.

Memory

Memory is part of the pitch. The listing talks about "remembering the little things" and building closeness "through personal moments and shared memories", and the About page says characters "remember details". EVA AI publishes no memory size, context numbers or memory editor, so we cannot say how long details are kept. Our AI companion memory page compares apps that document their memory systems.

Voice and Video Calls

The Android Terms describe chatting "via text, voice, and (where available) video call interface", and the privacy policy covers "text and voice messages" and content shared "in chat or calls". The Terms also describe a Video Call Feature that needs camera and microphone permissions, again "where available".

What is not published: which plan includes calls, any minute limits, which countries have video calls, and whether the character replies with voice notes. One Google Play reviewer in July 2026 said video chat was not available despite the marketing, and the developer apologized for confusion about premium features. Images and Photos

Image generation is not confirmed as a feature. The Terms mention "AI-generated content" and images used in AI features, and the privacy policy says photos you send are processed by an external service so you can "manipulate pictures". No official page describes selfies or picture generation.

User reports point to photos being paid content. A July 2025 App Store review says pictures need a subscription plus Neurons, and a July 2026 Google Play reviewer says that after paying for Premium they still had to buy tokens to see pre-created videos and photos. Adult / NSFW Features

EVA AI is not an NSFW platform. The current Terms for iOS and Android, last updated June 30, 2026, forbid using the app "to generate, request, or share any sexually explicit, pornographic, or adult-themed content".

The App Store listing is less clear-cut: it carries an 18+ age rating and still lists "Sexual Content or Nudity" and "Mature or Suggestive Themes" as infrequent content. Google Play rates the app Mature 17+. We did not test how strictly the ban is enforced, and the Terms do not say when it was introduced.

There is no ID or selfie check. Age is entered at registration, and the Terms (section 5.5) say the company's AI may block an account it believes belongs to someone under 18 until proof of age is provided. Mobile and Web Availability

• iPhone: EVA AI Soulmate on the App Store, free with in-app purchases, rated 18+, requires iOS 18.0 or later, English plus 12 other languages, 251.5 MB.
• Android: EVA AI Soulmate on Google Play, rated Mature 17+, 5M+ downloads, updated October 13, 2026.
• Mac and Vision Pro: only through iOS-app compatibility, not as a native Mac app.
• Web: none found. The Terms mention a website where a subscription may be bought, but we could not find one.

Pricing

EVA AI has no price page. The only public prices are the US App Store's in-app purchase list, which shows ten items without saying which tier each belongs to. Because Apple caps that list at ten entries, it may be incomplete.

Some points to read the tables correctly:

• Several monthly prices: four "1 Month Membership" prices appear ($11.99, $14.99, $15.99 and $24.99), plus an "EVA Premium" item at $13.99. The Terms say the exact Premium benefits "will be defined during the subscription process".
• Longer plans: a 3-month membership at $20.99 and a 12-month membership at $47.99. If the 12-month item covers the same Premium as the $11.99 monthly item (the listing does not say), a year would cost about a third of paying monthly ($143.88).
• Neurons on top: the Terms say "All Services not explicitly included in the Premium shall be provided at an additional charge", so Premium does not remove Neuron spending on romantic messages, gifts and other purchases.
• Android: Google Play lists in-app items from $5.49 to $99.99 per item (US view), without names.

Subscriptions are billed by Apple or Google, monthly, quarterly, semi-annually or annually, and renew automatically. If a payment is more than 7 days late, the account drops back to Basic. Cancellation and refunds

Cancel in the store where you subscribed: Apple ID settings, then Subscriptions on iPhone, or Subscriptions in the Google Play app on Android. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the billing period, and the account falls back to Basic rather than being deleted. The Terms say there are no refunds for partial periods and that App Store and Google Play purchases are "final", subject to Apple's or Google's own refund rules. Free Plan

The App Store shows EVA AI as "Free" with in-app purchases, and the Terms describe a Basic tier that every account falls back to when Premium ends. What Basic includes, and any message, voice or photo limits, are not published on the site or the store listings. User reviews suggest that photos and romantic messages cost extra, but the free allowance itself is unknown.

Privacy and Data Handling

EVA AI's privacy policy (updated June 3, 2026) is fairly detailed and names several partners. By topic:

• Data collected: first name, gender and email (mandatory), age and "age signals", nickname, facts about you and people you mention, photos and other images you send, voice recordings and video shared in chats or calls, text and voice messages, usage and device data, and optional session recordings.
• Model training: messages are collected "to improve the quality of text and voice messages of the virtual friend and to develop its AI". No opt-out is described.
• Human review: the Terms say "our representatives might moderate the activity of the chatbot to improve its performance". That does not clearly say whether staff read user chats.
• Encryption: the policy only promises "appropriate security measures". Google Play's developer-provided label says data is encrypted in transit; storage encryption is not stated.
• Retention: data is kept "for the time necessary to provide the services". Deleting your profile does not recall data already passed to third parties.
• Third parties: Mintegral and its partners (usage data for product and ad metrics), Microsoft (session recordings, only with in-app consent), an email-delivery service, an image-recognition service, hosting and analytics providers, and website cookies from Google, Facebook, Yahoo and Microsoft Bing Ads.
• Selling data: the policy says "We neither rent nor sell your information to anybody".
• Tracking: the App Store label lists identifiers and usage data as "Data Used to Track You".

• Replika: free text chat (its help center says chatting "will always be free"), iOS, Android and web apps, and voice calls for subscribers. The lowest US App Store monthly price is $7.99.
• Nomi: a free plan with 50 messages a day, a documented memory system and unfiltered text chat, but no nude images. The US App Store Standard plan is $15.99 a month.
