What Is Muah AI?

Muah AI (also written Muah.AI) is an adult AI girlfriend platform at muah.ai. Its pages say it "offers uncensored AI companion chat and NSFW features for adults", and you must be at least eighteen to join. Text chat, voice, live calls, photos, photo-to-video clips and AI music all happen in one web chatroom.

The operator is thinly documented. The Terms call Muah AI "a software development company" without naming a legal entity, and the homepage says "California Based". The Australian eSafety Commissioner's guide says it was founded by Harvard Han and operates out of Los Angeles.

This review draws on Muah AI's 20-chapter user guide ("Reviewed October 3, 2026"), feature pages, Terms and Privacy Policy, read in October 2026. We did not create an account or pay.

Who Is It For?

Adults who want a highly configurable NSFW companion in the browser with many media tools. It is a weak fit if you want to see the price before signing in, need a store app, or put privacy first.

How Muah AI Works

You can open the "Play Demo (No Login Needed)" chatroom, or sign in with email, phone, Discord, Apple or Microsoft. The demo lets you chat with a premade companion until an unstated message cap.

Each companion lives in a character slot with its own chat, settings and gallery. Extra slots, up to ten, are unlocked with XP levels. The login panel is labeled "Fevermate Access" and some interface text says "Velvetline"; the public pages do not explain these names.

XP and levels. According to the guide, XP is shared across slots, 1,000 XP makes a level, and levels are spent on extra slots, music generation and some media upgrades. Video clips also show an XP or access cost. How you earn or buy XP is not described publicly.

Character Creation

You can choose a premade companion, import a community character (browsable by Top, New or Random, also at card.muah.ai), or use the "Create My Own Dream Character" wizard with a name, optional description and an image. Every companion has editable fields:

• Core Prompt (personality), with presets for Girlfriend, Wife, Mistress or Custom; the premade chooser also lists Boyfriend and Companion.
• Look-Like, the appearance text used for photos, and Photo Style: Realistic, Anime, Pro Mode or Disable Photo Gen.
• AI Name, My name, Voice, AI Core (the model) and temperature from 0 to 1.

The guide says the Core Prompt and Look-Like limits depend on membership; exact numbers are not published. Compare other builders in our list of AI girlfriend apps with custom characters.

Chat Quality and Roleplay

An "AI Core" selector picks the model that writes replies. The guide says core names "can change", some cores are reserved for higher tiers (labels include GPT4 VIP and GPT5 / UHD VIP), cores differ in behavior and restrictions, and the chatroom falls back to another core if one fails. It does not name the companies behind the cores. Roleplay is steered by the Core Prompt.

We found too few user reports to judge chat quality: four Trustpilot reviews, the positive ones short posts such as "super uncensored".

Memory

Replies draw on recent chat within a "membership-based token budget", so higher tiers see more context. An optional "Automatic AI Memory Compaction (Beta)" writes older facts into an editable System Summary, but the guide warns that "a compact summary is not an archival backup", and deleting a message does not guarantee a summarized fact disappears. Voice Features

You can record voice messages to your companion (with a transcript), have replies read aloud with "Gen Voice" in a voice you choose, and start a live "Call" "if your account has access". ULTRA VIP is the tier described as "Real-time phone call access". Long replies can be trimmed by voice access limits, and minutes are not published. See our roundup of AI companions you can talk to.

Image and Video Generation

Companions send photos on request, or you press "Spice it up" for a photo of the current scene. 4K Enhance upscales images, and separate adult image tools (Photo X-Ray and Advanced X-Ray) have their own access or XP requirements. Free accounts can hit photo quotas or see "Unlock VIP To See Full Photo"; numbers are not published.

"Generate Video" and "Generate Video Gen 2 +Audio" turn a photo into a 5, 10 or 15 second clip. On Gen 2 a 10-second clip costs twice a 5-second one and 15 seconds three times. A "Sensitive scenes" option for adult video lowers quality, says the guide. A Music Generator (a vibe plus lyrics) is paid with XP levels. Adult / NSFW Features

NSFW chat is the core product: adult text roleplay, generated photos, video with the "Sensitive scenes" option and the X-Ray tools. Two caveats from Muah AI's own pages: adult chat access does not mean equal access to every media or calling feature, and "uncensored" does not mean every AI core behaves the same. The Terms prohibit illegal content.

The guide mentions an "app mode" limited to safe-for-work chat, which our researchers could not locate. Age checking is an 18+ statement only; no ID, selfie or card check is described. Our ranking of NSFW AI girlfriend apps puts this in context.

Mobile and Web Availability

• Web: the chatroom ships a web app manifest, so it can be added to a phone's home screen (the interface has an "Install on iOS" prompt).
• Android: the homepage footer links to an APK hosted on muah.ai, installed outside Google Play.
• iPhone: no App Store app. eSafety says Muah AI is "only available through its website", and a US App Store search on October 20, 2026 found nothing.
• Desktop: browser only.

Muah AI Pricing

Muah AI does not publish prices. The pricing link sends logged-out visitors back to the homepage, and plan cards show figures only in the logged-in checkout. The interface text confirms three tiers, each billed monthly or yearly:

Third-party sites quote Muah AI prices; we do not repeat them because none could be confirmed on an official page. For apps with public prices, see our AI companion price comparison.

• Renewal: the public pages do not say explicitly whether plans renew automatically.
• Canceling: by email to [email protected], "within muah ai settings page" (the chatroom has a "Manage VIP" control) or through the payment provider, per the Terms.
• Refunds: purchases "are NOT refundable", though support may grant a one-time partial or full refund in "special circumstances". If you dispute a charge with your bank without contacting support first, the Terms say the company applies a "zero refund stance" and contests it.

One 2024 Trustpilot reviewer could not find how to cancel and got a refund only after repeated complaints; that is a single user report. Our subscription cancellation guide has general steps.

Is Muah AI Free?

Partly. The guide says free chat "can have guest prompts, message limits, photo-generation quotas, photo-viewing locks, or call allowances", and that a free account and the guest demo "can behave differently". No limit is published as a number, and no trial is mentioned. VIP is described as "Unlimited essentials". Our list of free NSFW AI chat options compares free tiers.

Is Muah AI Safe? Privacy and the 2024 Breach

What was reported

On October 8, 2024, 404 Media reported that a hacker had taken Muah AI's database of chatbot prompts, many linked to email addresses that appeared to be personal accounts, and that some prompts described child sexual abuse scenarios. Have I Been Pwned lists the breach (September 2024): about 1.9 million email addresses, with AI prompts and sexual fetishes among the exposed data.

A Linklaters briefing (October 14, 2024) said threat actors reportedly used the data for extortion, including contacting IT staff to reach employers' systems. The Australian eSafety Commissioner's guide warns that Muah AI "has been the subject of significant data hacks".

What the company said

We found no breach statement on muah.ai. Malwarebytes and CyberInsider reported on October 9, 2024 that the administrator (named by CyberInsider as Harvard Han) said the hack was noticed about a week earlier and blamed a "targeted attack by competitors within the uncensored AI industry"; we found no independent evidence for that. He also said moderators remove child-related characters, which 404 Media's reporting contradicted. Teiss noted the service had told users their communications were encrypted and data not sold.

What the policies say

The Privacy Policy and Terms are dated May 17, 2022, before the breach:

• Collected: name, email, phone, anything you provide, IP and device data, activity logs, cookies. No section on chat content.
• Encryption: only "reasonable security measures"; no encryption claim.
• Training: not addressed. The Terms grant Muah AI a "non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license" to use and distribute content you submit "for the purpose of providing and promoting the Service".
• Human review: reported content goes to a "designated review team"; routine access is not addressed.
• Retention and third parties: no retention period; unnamed service providers. The word "sell" does not appear.

Pros and Cons

Best Alternatives to Muah AI

Kupid AI is also web-only but shows weekly, yearly and lifetime prices publicly, with media quotas per tier; it does not mention live calls or music. Nastia AI has a free daily-token tier, lists $15.99 a month on its landing pages (other official pages quote different figures) and publishes detailed refund and age-check pages.
