Kindroid is the closest match to Nomi and goes further in several places. You get up to 10 Kindroids and 20 group chats (Nomi: 10 and 10), three documented memory layers including journals triggered by keyphrases, real-time voice calls and live video calls with an animated avatar. Its moderation guidelines explicitly allow NSFW and erotic roleplay in private chats and say Kindroid is "not implementing a filter on the AI itself"; like Nomi, its mobile apps apply stricter image rules than the web.

Privacy terms are more specific than Nomi's: chats are encrypted at rest and in transit (not end-to-end), you can export your data every 30 days, and the policy says data is not sold or shared. The trade-off is cost. Kindroid has no free plan since October 1, 2026, and the US App Store lists $15.99 a month (inferred) or $159.99 a year, against $99.99 a year for Nomi; calls also use audio credits, while Nomi's own voices have unlimited use. If Nomi's 50 messages a day are not enough, Janitor AI offers "unlimited chats with millions of bots" on its free built-in model, and its help center says a free option will always stay. Adult content between consenting adult characters is allowed for users 18 and over, and sign-up works with email or Google rather than only Google or Apple.

It is a roleplay platform, not a companion app, and memory is its weak spot next to Nomi: the free context is about 9,000 tokens plus a Chat Memory field you write yourself. SpicyChat answers the most common Nomi complaint about images. Its Conversation Images feature has an NSFW Mode that allows "nude depictions of your character and explicit situations": for selected characters on True Supporter ($19.95 a month) and for any character, including your own, on I'm All In ($29.95). Text roleplay is adult by design, with group chats of 2 to 10 chatbots and lorebooks.

Memory tools are paid: Memory Manager from $5.95 a month, Semantic Memory 2.0 and an 8K context from $19.95, up to 32K on the top tier. The free tier has no published message cap but a 4,096-token context. NSFW content needs a selfie or ID check in France, the UK, Italy, Australia and 26 US states, there is no iPhone app, and the Terms give SpicyChat broad rights over chats. Replika is the pick if you want your companion to have a body: a 3D avatar you can dress, an AR mode, a VR beta for Meta Quest, video calls, and voice calls on a subscription. Its help center says text chat "will always be free" with no published cap, and its Memory tab lets you view, add, edit and delete memories, much like Nomi's.

You give up a lot of Nomi's flexibility: one companion per account, no group chats, and no official statement that adult content is allowed. CrushOn.AI's $5.99 Standard plan includes 2,000 message credits a month, 16K-memory models, group chat and auto-summarization of chats into long-term memory. You can pin up to 4,000 to 8,000 characters per chat by plan and save up to 100 messages as memories; higher tiers add 24K-memory models. The free plan gives 100 credits a month, unlimited Free Models and 8K memory, but deletes chat history after 7 days of inactivity.

It is text-first: no voice calls or image generator are documented, though voice messages and custom voice slots exist. An Unfiltered switch allows sexual roleplay. Nastia AI combines what Nomi splits or restricts: group chats with several companions, NSFW chat that its site says is "on from the first message", NSFW images for adults and an image and video generator with face and body references. The free tier is "free forever" with a daily token allowance (amount not published) and one companion.

Its prices are the problem. Landing pages show one Unlimited plan at $15.99 a month, while other official pages quote "from $6.69/mo" and $49.99 a year, and checkout is behind a login. It runs only as a web app, and Trustpilot reviews (2.1 out of 5 from 18 reviews) include billing complaints and one report of memory resetting daily (user reports).
